Who we're looking for

You don't need to wear a uniform to make a difference — but you do need to be trained, verified and willing to help.

Emergency Services Officer — on or off duty

Police, paramedics, fire and rescue already protect the community. LumeSafe puts nearby incidents on your map the moment they're reported, so you can help even when you're off the clock.

Licensed security

Guards, crowd controllers and patrol officers — get priority push alerts within your chosen radius and respond with the full picture: exact location and alert type.

Good Samaritans

Everyday people who step up. If you're trained and willing to help a stranger walking alone at night, you're exactly who this community needs.

First-aiders

Hold a current First Aid certificate? Your skills can change the outcome in the minutes before professional help arrives.

What you'll need

Responders see sensitive, exact locations — so every Responder is verified by a real person before access is granted. Requirements depend on your responder type:

Emergency Services Officer

  • Current emergency services ID (on or off duty)

No additional First Aid or WWCC required.

Licensed security

  • Current security licence / ID
  • Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)

First Aid is recommended but not required.

Good Samaritan & First-aider

  • Photo ID
  • Current First Aid certificate (e.g. HLTAID011 or equivalent)
  • Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)

Required because you may respond to vulnerable people.

All applications are manually reviewed by our team before Responder access is granted.

What Responders get

Exact alert locations

Community users see fuzzed locations to protect privacy. Verified Responders see exact, unmasked coordinates so you can actually get there.

Priority nearby alerts

Push notifications the moment a Spark alert or SOS is raised within your chosen radius — 1 to 10 km, you decide.

Responder dashboard

A live side-panel of every active alert near you, with one-tap actions to mark an alert as investigating or cleared.

Responder status

A visible “Responder Mode Active” status in the app so the community — and other responders — know help is on the way.

How to become a Responder

1. Sign up

Create your free LumeSafe account and choose “Responder” as your role.

2. Upload your documents

Upload the documents for your responder type — emergency services ID, security ID + WWCC, or photo ID + First Aid + WWCC. They're stored privately and only seen by our review team.

3. Get approved

Once our team verifies your documents, Responder Mode switches on and you'll start receiving nearby alerts.
